Lakewood Sister Cities Program is hosting an Information Meeting on Wednesday, December 21st, 2005 for its upcoming trip to Portsmouth, England and Paris, France

LONDON	PARIS	LAKEWOOD

LSCP is organizing a trip to visit its Sister City of Portsmouth, England in July of 2006. While there, participants will be able to ride in the 21st annual Paris to Hayling Charity Cycle Ride with over 250 bicyclists from the Portsmouth area. Open to all residents of Jefferson County, up to 30 participants will spend a 14 day home-stay with residents of Portsmouth. As well as staying with a family and getting to know Portsmouth, the trip includes many tours around the surrounding area including trips to the D-Day museum, Southsea Beach and London. Those in the group that would like to can join the bicycle ride for a 5 day, 400 mile, fully supported ride into Paris and back out along the River Seine.

“I’ve traveled to Portsmouth with Lakewood Sister Cities Program several times now and have always been treated like royalty. The people are so friendly and enthusiastic, and the hospitality is unending,” says Matt Armbruster, long-time member of Lakewood Sister Cities Program. “That we’re going to be able to join the bike ride is an incredible opportunity. The views riding through the country side of France into Paris are just unbelievable, and the organizers and support crew have thought of everything.”
